Sleep-Deprived Geppetto
As Geppetto lied on his back, body paralyzed, the puppet’s hand descended onto his neck and took a vice-grip snap of his esophagus, which made a grotesque cracking sound of his larynx.
After Geppetto screamed himself awake, Pinocchio rushed into the room to see if he was safe and exclaimed, “Father, is everything alright?” With sweat beading off his forehead and heart still drumming hard in his chest, he responded, “Yes, I was just dreaming of times when you were younger.”
He couldn’t go back to sleep the rest of the night.
